A year in the Making

Taylor and I have had a pretty eventful year...moving to Birmingham, getting sweet little Lola, becoming homeowners, and then squeezing travel in as often as we can. Of course, we underwent the struggles that every newlywed couple endures. But, I have to say, being Married is fun and a year into it, I am finally getting the hang of it!
Here is a little recap of our first year together:

Happy Monday!

Happy Monday...Just got back from a wonderful trip to Nashville, honoring one of our friends, Amanda Jones aka Honez (pictures to come). We had a blast, and now I am on my 3rd cup of coffee trying to convince myself it is going to be a happy Monday.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day-I know Lola sure will

Our first before and after!

This weekend Taylor and I started our hunt for furniture to fill the house. I was hoping to find some things from consignment/antique stores, and some I plan to order/buy new. We got up early to beat the crowds and try and get some good deals, but left discouraged. We didn't really see anything either one of us just HAD to have. When we got back home, I starting browsing the internet for ideas and found this outdoor furniture that we couldn't pass up!I Called the store and it was in stock so we ran over real quick, bought the outdoor furniture and got TayPhill a bedside table. Our day ended up being quite nice!

Here is a little snapshot of our patio!

April's Fury

What a week this has been. My heart has never felt so heavy. I feel so blessed to have all my family and friends accounted for! The Lord is truly amazing. Many of my friends are now without homes, but feel fortunate to still have their lives. Lindsay, one of my best friends, lost her home in Tuscaloosa on the 27th-she is getting married next weekend and is wondering where they will call home after they return from their honeymoon. Jacob(her fiance) and Lindsay's spirits are high, which is a normal thing for these two. Things have really been put into perspective for them-they may have lost material things, but their across the street neighbors lost their lives.
This town that I called home for more than 4 years will never be the same again, but it sure is comforting to know that thousands of people are trying their best to give as much relief as possible. With  400+ people still missing, I pray for their safe return to their families.

For any of you who would like to donate time, money or supplies-here are a couple ideas:
I hope all of your family and friends are safe!
